Approach to therapy

What to expect:

The initial sessions will involve establishing a relationship with you and gaining a clearer understanding of what has brought you to therapy. During this time I will take a detailed history, discuss your goals and develop a treatment plan specific to your individual needs. Typically clients are seen for between 6 to 12 sessions, commencing with weekly appointments and then moving to fortnightly and monthly. Some clients may only need to be seen once or twice and others may require a more intensive approach.

I follow the Australian Psychological Society’scode of ethics. Written consent will be obtained prior to any communication occurring with any individual/organisation outside the therapy relationship. Client records are kept locked and confidential and may only be released in the event of risk of harm to yourself or others, mandatory reporting of child sexual abuse or if a subpoena from court is supplied.
