About Karen
After working as a nurse for many years Karen decided to enhance her knowledge and understanding of the human mind and body and commenced her training as a psychologist. She continued to work as a nurse until she had completed her studies.
Since 1999 Karen has been working as a psychologist. Her experience includes working on a community mental health team; on an inpatient psychiatric ward; as a school counsellor, in a university psychology clinic, in a university counselling service and at a private psychiatric hospital. Karen is currently a casual lecturer at the N.S.W. Institute of Psychiatry and a casual tutor and lecturer in the psychology department at Macquarie University. She is also a member of theAustralian Psychological Society.
To balance work and family commitments, she has commenced working in private practice on a part time basis however assisting those in distress is important to Karen and time will be made available for you.
Karen has presented at two conferences; 5th Biennial International Conference on Personal Meaning, Toronto, Canada, 2008 and 27th International Congress of Applied Psychology, Melbourne, Australia, 2010.
